City of Cologne: Leisure

One out of every four Germans would like to live in Cologne! This was the result of a survey throughout the Federal Republic. One reason for this is among other aspects the extensive range of leisure activities that Cologne has to offer.

It is possible to practice up to 70 different types of sport in Cologne in more than 800 sports clubs. Furthermore, Cologne offers ample space for walking, jogging and football with its large parks and green spaces. When the weather is fine, everyone in Cologne goes outdoors. Sunbathing at the “Fühlinger See”, a boat trip on the Rhine or a visit to the award-winning Cologne Zoo invite anyone who would like to treat themselves to a little relaxation after work or at the weekend to wind down. During the barbecue season, young people gather everywhere with music and sausages in order to celebrate parties or simply lay in the sun. Since a short time, an actual sandy beach and deckchairs await those fond of the outdoors in Deutz.

There is a decent atmosphere on the other hand in the city’s many beer gardens, where homeliness and Kölsch are at home.
