City of Cologne: Shopping

Cologne is one of the most popular places in Germany to go shopping. There are said to be people who come to Cologne especially for a big shopping spree. The Schildergasse and the Hohe Strasse remain the two most popular shopping streets. Those with a penchant for trendy shops should make a detour to the Ehrenstrasse nearby. The Mittelstrasse is the place to go to find the swanky shops selling luxury labels. The arcades in the city centre and on the Ring also present plenty of shopping opportunities. Here visitors can shop to their heart’s content in a modern ambience and then refuel on an exquisite delicacy in one of the many trendy estaminets. Less well-known, but all the more relaxed is a shopping spree in the shopping streets of the different “Veedel” as the locals call their quarters.
